Georg Breuer

Galil Mountain

The Georg Breuer winery in the Rheingau is a family-owned estate with 33 hectare of vineyards in the best Rüdesheim and Rauenthal sites. The estate was founded in 1880 and has been owned by the Breuer family since the 20th century. Today the estate is managed by Heinrich Breuer and Theresa Breuer. The strength of the estate lies in the Riesling wines (80%) in the top sites of Rüdesheim Berg Schlossberg and Rauthenthal Nonnenberg. The other varietals are Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and others. The annual production amounts to 240.000 btls.

Galil Mountain winery was founded in 2000 and is a joint-venture between Golan Heights Winery and Kibbutz Yiron, where the winery is situated.  All the vineyards are located in the Upper Galilee mountains, at elevations up to 700 meters. The winery is managed by Uri Tyroler and the head winemaker is Micha Vaadia. The winery grows nine red varieties - Cabernet Sauvig-non, Merlot, Shiraz, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir,  Sangiovese, Barbera and Grenache - and three white varieties - and Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Viognier.  The winery produces about 1 million bottles annually.
