The Staatlicher Hofkeller Würzburg winery was founded in 1128 and is managed today by Michael Jansen. Its 120 hectar vineyards are in the top sites all over the Franken wine region and in Würzburg itself in the world renowned Würzburger Stein site. The wines are produced centrally in the historical vaulted cellars in Würzburg. This lively monument of wine culture was built in 1719 and houses today modern and efficient wine production facilities. In these cellars 850.000 bottles are produced annually. The white wines varietals are Silvaner, Riesling, Müller-Thurgau and Pinot Blanc and the red wine varietals are Pinot Noir, Domina and Früburgunder (an early ripening Pinot Noir).
